LEVELS OF SATISFACTION AND PREFERENCES OF CHILDREN WHO PARTICIPATING IN THE HEALTH 5-10 PROGRAMME

ABSTRACT

Introduction. The aim of the hereby research work is to analyse the different levels of satisfaction and preferences in children participating in the 5-10 HEALTH Programme.

Material and methods. A selective study has been performed on school children taking part in the 5-10 HEALTH Programme (n=119) for the first time. A survey called CS-SALUD 5-10 (Satisfaction-preference questionnaire of the 5-10 HEALTH Programme) in Spanish has been conducted.

Results. Results have shown that school children taking part in the 5-10 HEALTH Programme have a high level of satisfaction with respect to the Programme. The preferred activities that stand out the most are games, sports and free play. Regarding instructors, school children also show a high level of satisfaction, the most important aspects being the instructors’ nature and character, the explanation and the methodology used. The level of both satisfaction and amusement, together with preferences, were similar in boys and girls.

Conclusions. The results obtained from this research work must be used to reflect on the contents and methodology to be used in the 5-10 HEALTH Programme, and include the preferences that children have outlined in order to optimise the effect of the sessions under the 5-10 HEALTH Programme.
