ANALYSE OF THE DOCUMENTS (1872 - 1886) THAT INFLUENCED THE PROGRAMS OF THE DISCIPLINE PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN CHILE

ABSTRACT

The processes through which the discipline of Physical Education is built in Chile, were influenced by the works of Murillo (1872) and Aguirre (1886), both doctors concerned about the health of the population of the time. His works laid the foundations of what is the discipline today, but what elements of the work of Murillo and Aguirre are present in Physical Education Current? The purpose of this paper is to analyse the documents of Murillo (1872) and Aguirre (1886) in order to demonstrate the programmatic influence of nineteenth-century writings with the current guidelines of the Physical Education Course in Chile. For the above, a methodology of qualitative interpretative type is proposed, the analysis of the texts was done through the technique of content analysis, using the software Atlas.ti 8. Thus, from the generation of codes and categories generate an explanatory framework of the analysed texts, allowing to verify their influence with current ministerial documents.

In the results, evidences were observed that show the influence both in the purposes of the subject and in the types of theoretical references that sustain it, as well as the perpetuation of conditions that make it possible to make indigenous peoples invisible, and to a lesser extent, the woman.

Finally, it is concluded that the influence of more than a century is maintained which makes his study one more element to be able to understand the current processes of Physical Education in Chile.
