This paper aims at identifying the sedentary habits of teenagers in Andalusia (Spain). It is based on a sample of 2293 students of 16 High Schools. The participants’ ages range between 12 and 16 (14.18 ±1.28). By gender, 50.2% participants are female and 49.8% are male.The participants were classified according to their body type and degree of physical activity. Two questionnaires were run3 for this study: Physical activity screening measure for use with adolescents in primare care [MVPA] (Prochaska, Sallis y Long, 2001), and Sedentary behaviors questionnaire (Todd y Currie, 2004). Relevant sociodemographic data, like gender, age, height and weight were also gathered. The results show that female teenagers are more sedentary than male teenagers, that lack of physical activity becomes more evident among overweight teenagers, and that the sedentary habits increase on weekends. The results are compared with national and international.
